October 22, 2013Princeton High School
The Princeton boys' soccer team lost 1-0 to Walnut Hills in the second round of the Sectional Tournament on Saturday, October 19 at Walnut Hills. The Vikings end the season with a 8-4-5 overall record, which matches the most wins since the 2008 season, and is the highest winning percentage since the 2006 season.
The Vikings and Eagles entered the game having played to a 0-0 tie earlier in the regular season, as both teams matched up evenly on the field.
In the game, Walnut Hills was able to capitalize on a 50-50 ball inside the Vikings' 18 yard box with just under 13:00 minutes to play in the first half. Time would expire for Princeton as they nearly converted on a corner kick with seconds remaining.
Despite the excellent effort by Princeton, the Vikings were unable to capitilize on a scoring opportunity in the second half.
