Boys water polo comes up short at Mason Invite

The Princeton boys water polo team traveled to Mason High School on Saturday, August 31 to compete in the 2013 Mason Invitational. The Vikings to three strong opponents to drop their season record to 2-7.
In game 1, the Vikings looked to get revenge against the St. Xavier Bombers, who defeated Princeton last week in the Milford Invitational. The Vikings led 5-4 at the half, but the Bombers would score 6 goals in the second half to hand Princeton its first loss on the day.
Princeton was unable to overcome the storm early by the Upper Arlington Golden Bears in game 2. Upper Arlington took a commanding 7-1 lead early, but the Vikings rallied back to get within three goals before falling 14-10.
The Vikings concluded its schedule with Mason, who jumped out to an early 6-1 advantage before Princeton could get things rolling on offense. The Vikings played the host team tough in the second half, but the deficit was too large to overcome, falling 11-7.
