The Princeton boys' basketball team outscored Hamilton 35-22 in the second and third quarter to defeat the Big Blue 62-52 in the first round of the Sectional Tournament at Lakota West High School on Saturday, February 23. The Vikings improve to 13-10 on the season. Hamilton led all but the final minute of play in the first half, as the Vikings' defensive intensity sparked the offense to take a 25-24 lead at the break. Princeton continued to extend its lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Big Blue 17-10. The Vikings shot 7-11 from the floor as the team, and senior Deiontay Walters scored 10 of his team high 15 points. Walters finished the game shooting 6-7 from the floor. The Vikings showed good composure down the stretch, and eventually put the game out of reach in the final seconds. Senior Dorian Jordan finished with 14 points and 10 assists. Ryan Bricking added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Senior Darius Hilson chipped in with 8 points and a game high 12 rebounds. Sophomore Jordan Bradley sparked the Vikings' offense off the bench, finishing with 8 points off of 4-5 shooting. The Vikings will return to action on Wednesday, February 27 against Turpin at Hamilton High School. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30pm.
