Home » General NewsVikings & Warriors Draw Sell Out CrowdFebruary 13, 2013 Princeton High SchoolTwo schools, one gym, and over 2,000 spectators came together on Tuesday, February 12 for an excellent night for two communities. The Princeton and Winton Woods boys’ basketball game was full of excitement on the court and fans saw a dynamic performance at halftime by our Code Red step team. The Vikings defeated the Warriors 78-57 (Game Write Up), but that was not the only win during last night’s event. The most highly anticipated match up for the City of Cincinnati, Princeton and Winton Woods came together in hopes of rejuvenating a competitive match-up for years to come. Starting last season, both athletic departments worked diligently to provide both communities the opportunity to showcase its athletic talents in respective sports. Both schools started unrolling this plan in the fall with freshman football, tennis, all three levels of volleyball, and boys’ and girls’ soccer. After great success with fall sports, both athletic directors agreed to continue this match-up in the winter season, highlighted by the girls’ basketball teams playing at Winton Woods (near sell out), and the boys’ basketball games held at Princeton (sell out). In addition, these schools worked together in the winter months to combine swimming practices over the holiday break. The two schools will continue this competitive nature in softball and baseball this year. The Princeton Athletic Department would like to thank Viking Country for their support in last night’s boys’ basketball game, and we look forward to more successful match-ups in the coming years. Hail Vikings!!
