Turpin's Sharp Shooting Hands Vikes Loss

The Princeton boys' basketball team lost 83-75 to the Turpin Spartans on Saturday, February 9 at Turpin High School. The Vikings drop to 10-10 on the year, and 7-6 in the Greater Miami Conference.
The non-conference matchup saw 18 lead changes and 16 ties. Both teams shot 40 percent in the first half, and Turpin would score in the final seconds to take a 35-33 lead into the locker room.
Turpin's offense would score 50 points in the second half, finishing 50 percent (25-50) shooting from the floor. The Vikings would continue to attack on offense, but the Spartans would hit 24-27 free throws in the game to prevent a Princeton come from behind win.
Senior Dorian Jordan led the Vikings with 23 points, and 10 assists. Senior Darius Hilson and Junior Ryan Bricking each added 16 points in the loss.
The Vikings shot 46.3 percent (31-67) from the floor, and would go a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line.
Turpin knocked down 9 three pointers in the win, and were led by Connor Grotton's 32 points.
Princeton returns home on Tuesday night at 7:30pm against the Winton Woods Warriors. They will close out the regular season on Friday night against the Sycamore Aviators.
