Vikes End Skid, Sink Hamilton

The Princeton boys' basketball team ended their three game losing streak by defeating Hamilton Big Blue 61-54 on Friday, February 1 at Princeton High School. The Vikings improve to 9-8 overall, and 6-5 in the Greater Miami Conference.
Senior Darius Hilson scored 8 of his 12 points in the first quarter to give Princeton a 16-9 lead. The Big Blue stormed back in the second quarter, shooting 64 percent (9-14) to take a 29-25 lead into the half. After starting the first quarter shooting 47 percent from the field, the Vikings went cold in the second, shooting just 21 percent (3-14).
Down four at the break, Princeton scored 9 points off 7 Big Blue turnovers. The Vikings outscored Hamilton 17-15 in the third quarter to find themselves down 44-42 to start the final period of play.
Senior Deiontay Walters scored 8 of his game high 18 points in the fourth quarter to seal the seven point victory. The Vikings shot 50 percent in the quarter, and the defense limited Hamilton to 4-14 shooting.
Senior Mac Bozel had an outstanding game in the paint for the Vikings. Bozel scored 11 points off of 5-8 shooting, and grabbed 7 rebounds. Dorian Jordan continued to fill the stat sheet up, scoring 16 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals.
William Blevins and Jordan Bradley each added two points in the win.
Princeton will host Fairfield on Tuesday, January 5 at 7:30pm.
