Box Score

The Princeton boys' basketball team suffered a 72-68 loss to the Lakota West Firebirds on Friday, January 25 at Princeton High School. The Vikings fall to 8-7 overall, and 5-4 in the Greater Miami Conference.

Leading 32-31 after the first half of play, the Firebirds jumped out in the second half with 8 quick points. The Vikings were outscored 18-14 in the third quarter, which proved to be the difference down the stretch.

Trailing by three points with under one minute to play, the Vikings could not capitlize on offense. Princeton would miss multiple easy baskets under the basket, and only converted 9-14 from the free throw line.

The Firebirds shot the basketball very well, finishing 45 percent from the field and 6-15 from behind the arc.

Princeton was led by Ryan Bricking with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Mac Bosel led the Vikings early, capitlizing on four short jump shots in the paint to finish with 8 points.

Senior Dorian Jordan finished with 13 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals. Jordan is currently leading the conference with 5.9 assists per game and 4.2 steals per game.

Jordan Bradley and Deiontay Walters each added 9 points. The bench would contribute to 14 points, as Darious Hilson chipped in with 8 points in the loss.

The defense for the Vikes had trouble stopping the explosive offense by the Firebirds, as four of their five starters finished in double digit scoring. Ali Barnes led all scorers in the game with 25 points.

Princeton travels to Oak Hills on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30pm.
