Box Score

The Princeton girls' basketball team suffered their fourth loss of the season, falling to Ursuline 51-41 on Thursday, January 17. Princeton drops to 10-4 overall, and 8-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.

In an uncharacteristic performance by the Lady Vikes, Ursuline out hustled Princeton from the very beginning. Trailing 13-11 to start the second quarter, the Lady Vikes picked up the defensive pressure. Princeton forced 16 first half turnovers, and 23 total in the game. However, Ursuline still had success breaking the press, as the defense by Princeton struggled to get back in position. Princeton shot just 28 percent from the floor.

Leading 25-23 at the half, the shooting struggles continued. Princeton could not get in a rythem on offense, as the Lady Vikes shot 25 percent for the game. The Lions would outscore Princeton 12-3 in the third quarter, and would extend their lead 47-32 in the second half.

Junior Chelsea Mitchell led the scoring for Princeton, finishing with 16 points. Carlie Pogue added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.

Quierra Drake and LeJessica Olverson each chipped in with 4 points. Emily Roper and Corneisha Henderson added 2 points, and Markayla Sherman recorded 1 point.

Princeton will travel to Twinsburg this weekend to compete in the Classic in the Country. Princeton will play Memphis Central (TN) at 3:30pm on Saturday, and Twinsburg at 7:00pm on Sunday.
