Lady Vikings defeat Oak Hills 42-29

The Princeton girls' basketball team defeated the Oak Hills Highlanders 42-29 on Saturday, January 12 at Oak Hills High School. The Lady Vikes improve to 9-3 overall, and 8-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.
The defense for the Lady Vikes limited Oak Hills to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters. Trailing 11-10 after the first quarter, the offense picked up in the second quarter to take a 25-15 lead at the half.
Princeton struggled to find the bottom of the basket in the third quarter, scoring just four points. However, great passing and second chance points sealed the victory for Princeton.
Jasmyn Hardin score 9 points and a season high 15 rebounds. Carlie Pogue added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Chelsea Mitchell scored 5 points, Markayla Shermon added 3 points, and Emily Roper chipped in 2 points.
Princeton's bench scored 14 points, as Jada Ballew scored 6 points. Corneisha Henderson scored 4 points, and LaJessica Olverson and Quierra Drake each scored 2 points.
As a team, Princeton shot 17-57 (29.8%) from the floor. The defense forced 16 turnovers and out rebounded Oak Hills by 15.
Princeton will host St. Ursuline on Monday, January 14 at 7:30pm.
