The Princeton boys' basketball team lost 64-51 to Lakota East on Friday, December 14 at Princeton High School. The Vikings drop to 2-1 overall, and 1-1 in the Greater Miami Conference.
Both teams entered the contest undefeated, but it was the Hawks who came out to play early. East jumped out in front 9-0, as the Vikings' defense could not find an answer to stop the Hawks' shooters. Lakota East would outscore Princeton 21-10 in the first quarter.
The Vikings would settle down in the second quarter, only to trail East 31-25 after the first half of play. The second half would start out similiar to the first quarter as East would jump out to a 7-0 run. However, Princeton would fight back to even the third quarter scoring 11-11.
East would prove to be too tough on offense with four of five starters scoring in double figures. The Hawks shot 24-47 from the field and 11-12 from the free throw line.
Senior Dorian Jordan led the Vikings with 17 points, 10 assists, and 6 steals.
Eric Tivis would add 8 points and 5 steals, and Deiontay Walters chipped in with 9 points.
