Mitchell and Ademuyewo Receive Student Athletes of the Week
December 7, 2012Princeton High School
The Princeton Athletic Department and Ruby Tuesday would like to recognize junior Kelsey Mitchell and senior Adeleke Ademuyewo for their outstanding performances to start the season.
Kelsey is a member of the top ranked girls’ basketball team that has helped Princeton jump out to a 3-0 record. In the first three games, Kelsey leads the Greater Miami Conference with 27.7 points a game. Kelsey broke the single game scoring record by scoring 38 points in a 78-40 win over Mercy. Furthermore, she became the fifth Lady Viking and eighth Princeton basketball player of all time to reach the 1,000 career point club. She continues to be a great leader for the girls’ basketball team both on and off the court. Kelsey motivates others around her to achieve success, which is spread throughout the school.
Adeleke is a member of the boys’ bowling team that has current record of 2-2. In the four matches, Adeleke has bowled a 204.1 average, which ranks him eleventh in the Greater Miami Conference. On Monday, December 3 Adeleke bowled his best game of the season to lead the Vikings over the Sycamore Aviators 2699-2277. He bowled a game high 233 to finish knocking down 444 total pins on the afternoon. “Leke has worked very hard and that hard work is finally starting to pay off” says head coach Gary Wilson.
