The Princeton boys' basketball team opened up the season by defeating the Elder Panthers 70-62 on Tuesday, December 4 at Princeton High School. The Vikings improve to 1-0 on the season. The Panthers jumped out to a 20-14 lead after the first quarter, but the Vikings would storm back to outscore Elder 19-10 in the second quarter, to give Princeton a 33-30 lead at the half. The Vikings were led by senior Dorian Jordan, who finished with 25 points on 7-16 shooting, 6 assists, and 5 steals in the win. Deiontay Walters finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds in his Viking debut, including a perfect 7-7 at the free throw line. Senior forward Darius Hilson added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Vikings. As a team, Princeton shot 21-47 (44.7%) from the floor, and 26-31 (83.9%) from the free throw line. Princeton (1-0) will travel to Hamilton on Friday, December 7th.
