2nd Quarter Dooms Vikings

The Princeton football team concluded the 2012 season with a 41-14 loss at Middletown on Friday, October 26. The Vikings finished the season with a 1-9 record.

The Vikings jumped on the board first, as Tyrell Gilbert would scramble for 43 yards for the score. Jalin Marshall and the Middies would respond with a touchdown in the final minutes of the first quarter, but a failed extra point would give the Vikings a 7-6 advantage.

Princeton would turn the ball over twice, giving the Middies excellent field position to work with. Marshall would throw a 40 and 26 yard touchdown in the quarter. In addition, Marshall would break loose for 76 yards to put Middletown in front 34-7 at the half.

The Vikings would continue to show great pose in the second quarter, forcing Middletown to three turnovers in the game. Despite a touchdown by the Middies in the fourth quarter, Princeton would drive the length of the field for a Gilbert 2 yard touchdown.

Defensively, Jules Ferguson recorded two fumble recoveries.
