Home » Boys' Water Polo NewsBoys Water Polo: Milford Invite RecapSeptember 6, 2012 Princeton High SchoolThe Princeton boys water polo team went 1-2 at the Milford Inivitational on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1. In the first game, the Vikings matched up against their regional rival, Upper Arlington. The first half featured excellent play from both teams, as the Vikings found themselves down 3-1. The Golden Bears would finally open things up in the third quarter by converting four shots outside seven meters. Despite the strong effort by the Vikings, Princeton would fall 11-4. The second game showcased strong leadership from David Spraul, Erik Spraul, and Dylan Dykes to rally the Vikings after the first quarter of play to end the half with a 3-3 score. David Sprual would lead the offensive attack in the third quarter, scoring four goals to help Princeton take a 8-7 win. The Vikings would wrap up the Milford Inivte by taking on the Bombers of St. Xavier. Intensity was at an ultime high to start the game, as the Vikings jumped out in from 2-1 in the early minutes of play. Strong defense would hold the Bombers off the scoreboard in the second quarter, and goals from Dylan Dykes and Erik Spraul would give the Vikings a 6-5 lead at the half. Princeton was unable to sustain the high intensity in the second half, as the Bombers would put excellent attacks on offense to give St. Xavier the 12-10 win.
