Homeless NY Teen Awarded $50K Scholarship

Brentwood High School senior Samantha Garvey, whose family was forced to move into a homeless shelter on New Year's Eve, was awarded a $50,000 scholarship from AT&T during an appearance on the "Ellen" talk show Thursday.

Garvey, who aspires to be a marine biologist, was named one of 300 semifinalists in the prestigious Intel science contest last week.
