TAYLORSVILLE - Alexander Central High School Principal Doug Rhoney has announced that Nick Bazzle has been selected as the school's new Head Football Coach.
The Alexander County Board of Education approved Bazzle for the position on Wednesday after receiving a recommendation from Rhoney and interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeff Peal.
Bazzle becomes the sixth Head Coach in Alexander Central’s 42-year history. He will replace Coach Tom Harper, who left ACHS in February to accept the same job at Hickory High School.
“Alexander Central High School is excited to announce the hiring of Coach Nick Bazzle as the next head football coach. We have searched long and hard and feel we have hired the right man for the job. Coach Bazzle brings a very impressive resume to AC," Alexander Central Principal Doug Rhoney said. "He has coached in three State Championship games (winning one), coached in the East/West all-star game, coached in the Shrine Bowl, won six conference championships, is vice president of the North Carolina Football Coaches Association, and a board member of the North Carolina Coaches Association and has an impressive 112-56 record in 13 years. What set Coach Bazzle apart from the others? Yes, winning and losing is important, but his determination to produce quality young men on and off the football field."
