Longtime Knights coach dies

WILSON - Doing just enough wasn't Hayes Kennedy's style. The former Northern Nash teacher and coach always wanted to do more than required.
That attribute is a huge reason why Kennedy, who died Thursday at the age of 62, was so loved by his peers and players.
"He was a great man," Northern Nash Principal Michael "Chip" Hodges said. "He did whatever you asked him to do. He wasn't doing it for money. He didn't get extra. He did the (activities) because he wanted to do them and enjoyed doing them."
