September 11, 2012
Great American Football Classic

The Great American Football Classic was spawned out of our celebration of the great game of football. No sport more American, no passion more intense, high school football brings with it the memories and excitement of our youth, the sense of pride in watching our team play and the feeling of community created in cities and towns all across this country.

The Great American Football Classic is set to take place Saturday, September 15th at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. The 2nd annual Classic will feature 8 teams from Missouri and Illinois; Triad (9-2 in 2011) will face Waterloo (6-4) at 11AM, Farmington (12-2) will play Sikeston (8-3) at 1:30PM, Missouri Class 5 runner-up Kirkwood (12-1) will meet Summit (7-4) at 4PM and Eureka (8-3) will battle Oakville (5-6) at 6:30.

The 2011 Classic featured 6 games played out over 2 days at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. The two games on Friday were headlined by four Southwestern Conference squads in Illinois. Belleville East beat Granite City 38-14, and then O’Fallon defeated Belleville West 50-3. On Saturday, McCluer North took down Pattonville 25-7, Eureka shut out Marquette 48-0 and Francis Howell Central overcame Holt’s lead to win 29-27. The featured game of the Classic had the Christian Brothers College Cadets put on an offensive clinic in a 52-22 victory over Metro Catholic Conference rival, the De Smet Spartans.

Tickets for the 2012 event cost $11 for general admission (bought in advance) or $15 for general admission on the day of the game. Youth football tickets are $8. One ticket provides admission to all four of the games on the schedule.
