Home » Basketball NewsHannahs among Top 25 3-point shooters from ESPNNovember 5, 2011 By Andy Hodges of 247 PrepsPulaski Academy's Dusty Hannahs is one of the best 3-point shooters in the country and that's coming from one highly-respected national internet publication. It's been 25 years since the 3-point shot was introduced to the men's college basketball scene and in honor of that, Recruiting Nation at ESPN.com selected the Top 25 shooters among high school seniors. Hannahs committed to Texas Tech in September. "Dusty is one of the top five 3-point shooters in America," said Ron Crawford, Hannah's AAU coach with the Arkansas Wings. "His work ethic is as good as any player I've ever coached." ESPN.com had this description of Hannah's in the story, which ran online Nov. 3: "Defenses must know where this kid is on the floor at all times. Hannahs is a zone-buster who knows what he does well and doesn't deviate. He has a pure compact stroke and brings value to the Red Raiders as a long-range marksman for whom defenses must account." Hannahs has also developed his overall game and will be taking that to Tech. "The sad thing is because he shoots the ball so well his athleticism and strength are overlooked," Crawford said. At the Preps 247 Super 60 Combine in October, Hannahs ran a 3.2 20-yard dash, benched 185 pounds 12 times, had a one-step vertical leap of 33 inches and a 40-inch maximum leap. "He tested near the top of every category at the Combine," Crawford said. "Texas Tech is getting a great player."
